Rental Policies & Vacation Home Use Instructions
Check out is 10:00 AM; check
in is 3:00 PM. The check out and check in
times is needed to allow us to thoroughly clean
the house for the next guests. We will try to
accommodate changes if possible, please request
an extension in advance.
Linens
Please
bring your own sheets, pillow cases and towels.
If you are unable to bring your own linens
contact us for special arrangements.
Rental
Groups
Our homes are located on a quiet
lake. This is a “residential” area; you may have
neighbors. We rent to family groups or groups of
adult friends. We do not allow high school or
college groups. Special events (parties, etc.)
are not permissible unless discussed prior to
rental with the owners. No exceptions will be
made. Violations of the group rental policy are
grounds for immediate eviction without a refund
of rent.
Renters shall permit no
activities on the premises which are contrary to
any law, ordinance or applicable health or fire
department provisions.
Pets
We do love pets but we do NOT
allow guests to bring pets into the homes.
Smoking
Please do NOT smoke inside the
house! You will find ash trays outside if
needed.
Swimming and Boating
No children are allowed to swim,
use watercraft or the beach area without adult
supervision. THERE IS NO LIFE GUARD ON DUTY;
you are using the lake “at your own risk.”
You must use life jackets
whenever using any watercraft (boats, canoes,
kayaks, etc). Please
bring your own life jackets to ensure the best
fit! Do not use watercraft if not familiar with
their use!
Please do not use glass
containers on the beach area.
Checkout requirements:
Checkout time is promptly at
10:00 AM. If you are unable to meet this time
please contact us for an extension. We will
accommodate if possible.
A great deal of work must be done to prepare the
waterfront homes and grounds for guest arrival,
and a delay in your departure may result in the
waterfront home not being ready by 3:00 PM for
the next guests. Like you, they are excited and
want to be in their waterfront home on time. It
is our mission to provide the cleanest homes
possible so that you will become our guest for
life. This 5 hour window allows just enough time
for the home and property to be inspected and
cleaned.
The Blue house and The Cottage are our homes,
and we have worked very hard to make them
comfortable for you. You must leave the homes
neat and undamaged; if you make a mess by all
means clean it up.
Wash and put away all dirty
dishes, pot & pans or the like. No dirty dishes
should be left in the sink and all items from
the dishwasher should be put away in their
appropriate places.
Please remove all personal food items from the
refrigerator, freezer and cabinets. These items
must be thrown away if left behind. Trash bags
are provided. Please place all trash in closed
bags in trash can outside with the lid securely
closed. If you ran out of trash can space before
trash pick-up, please keep extra trash in closed
trash bags inside the house to avoid having them
torn apart by animals during the night.
Trash
pick-up
is Wednesday morning. Please place large black
trash bag (in or outside of outdoor trash can)
with a Johnsburg trash sticker affixed to bag or
handle of the trash can. Stickers are kept in
kitchen drawer. Stickers cost $2 each.
Place recyclables in container
provided. All recyclables must be washed and
labels must be removed from cans. Place on the
edge of the road in front of the house.
If you use
the gas grill please leave it clean with the gas
turned off. If you need a gas refill, tanks are
sold at the NicenEasy on RT 28 towards North
Creek. If you leave the tank empty you must let
us know at checkout time.
WATER
USE: IMPORTANT
These homes are equipped with
modern wells and septic systems. If you are not
familiar with wells and septic systems, we can't
stress enough the need to strictly limit shower
times and toilet flushes and to avoid
flushing ANYTHING down the toilet except human
waste and toilet tissue. We do not want
your vacations interrupted by a septic overflow
nor do we want to negatively affect the natural
beauty and cleanliness of Garnet Lake. Please
make sure all guests, especially children
understand this.
